I used a profile of my daughters face and back stitched it and then used Brizilian threads to embroider the hair.

Pattern taken from Emb. & Cross Stitch. Stitched on 18 count linen. The threads were No.10, 20 and 30 crochet thread silk dyed to the desired colours.

This silk ribbon is from Ribbon Embroidery and Stumpwork by Di van Niekerk. It is a lovely book. The ladies have produced these pictures in embroidery classes. As you can see each lady has chosen her own colour theme.
